Running Exams and Assessments


Scholva's assessment module handles everything from weekly quizzes to final exams.


Creating a test


  1. Go to Assessment → Tests → Create Test
  2. Fill in the basics: title, type (Quiz, Assignment, Exam, Practice), subject and class, duration, total marks and passing marks
  3. Click Next
  4. Add questions from your question bank or create new ones
  5. Configure settings: randomize question order, allow review after submission, number of attempts allowed
  6. Click Save to create as draft, or Publish to make it live


Drafts are only visible to teachers. Students will not see the test until you publish it.


Question types supported


  • Multiple choice — single or multiple correct answers
  • True/False
  • Short answer — auto-graded by keyword match
  • Essay — manually graded by the teacher
  • Fill in the blank


Assigning a test to students


After publishing:


  1. Open the test
  2. Click Assign
  3. Choose Entire Class or Specific Students
  4. Set the Start time and End time window
  5. Click Assign


Grading essay questions


Short-answer and multiple-choice questions are auto-graded. Essays need your attention:


  1. Go to Assessment → Grading
  2. Select the test
  3. Click a student's attempt
  4. Read the essay answer and enter a score + feedback
  5. Click Save
  6. Move to the next student


Viewing results


  • Individual — open the student's attempt to see their answers
  • Class summary — open the test and click Analytics for class-wide statistics
  • Grade distribution — pass/fail breakdown, average score, highest/lowest marks
